I used a dremel tool with a small round metal file tip to remove all excess adhesive from their failed repair and made sure the tooth sat right where I wanted it. When they replaced the tooth at the lab they simply put the adhesive on and stuck in the tooth.
The space taken by the adhesive caused the tooth to sit slightly forward from the rest.
